Learn the Joy of Milking Cows

What you’ll do

This is hands-on farm life, not a walking tour. Over about 2 hours 30 minutes you’ll:

• Meet the animals — pet, brush, and hang out with the cows, goats, chickens, and bunnies (and baby chicks, in season)
• Learn how we care for them — what everyone eats, and how a homestead runs day to day
• Prepare for milking — get set up and learn why cleanliness matters in dairying
• Milk the cow — by hand or with the machine, with us guiding you the whole way. Most first-timers have milk flowing within minutes
• Strain and cool the milk — help finish the job the way we do it every morning
• Taste the results — sample our farm products, and take milk home at a discount

Good to know

• Ages 5 and up welcome (kids with an adult) · groups up to 5
• Light activity, total beginners expected — we’ll teach you everything
• Wear closed-toe shoes you don’t mind getting a little farm on
